Anyone ever been to Iceland Airwaves? (1 Viewer)

Hi,

First acts announced today for Iceland Airwaves with a new location added too.

Anyone ever been to this festival? How was it? I'm thinking of making a trip.

I haven't, but I was just talking about it with a former attendee because I'm thinking of going this year because NOODLE STATION!!!!!

Basically, recommended. Big party, really good app that has all the little gigs and events - there's loads going on, lots of backpackers turn up for it so if you're planning on going alone stay in a hostel and you'll make friends. It's supersuper cold and spread across different venues so you might have to queue outside a bit, pack your long-johns. And eat at Noodle Station every day, you'll miss it terribly when you come home.

I am thinking of going it alone. Its an event I've thought about going to for a few years but never did because of the solo journey idea. Not many of my friends would be into if, for the music or the travel. But this year I think I'll go for it.

Thanks for the points you've made. It seems to be all positive from what I've heard and backpacker friendly like you said.

Iceland is worth a visit for any reason.

Yup. I was there for a few days recently and was really sad coming home. Would love to stay there for a few weeks/months.
