Amp hum/fizz (2 Viewers)

Is there a quick fix for a fizzing (earthing?) noise on the input jack on my Vox Pathfinder 10? Will something like this do the job?
WD-40 Specialist

or this? Seems a bit expensive
Hosa Caig Deoxit Contact Cleaner 5% Spray 5 Oz - Misc | eBay

the hum could be from something else, but, if theres dirt on the inside of input jack of your amp...........

DO NOT USE WD-40

get a cheaper contact cleaner ( like this one 2 x 200ml Electrical Contact Cleaner Switch Clean Aerosol Spray Can Dirt Remover | eBay )

unplug your amp.
spray contact cleaner on the jack part of your cable and plug it in and out a load of times ( ooh matron) in to the amp. you could try rotating the jack as your doing it (double ooh matron).
repeat as many times sa youd like

I'll know for sure when I get that stuff. Sounds like the solution though

Well this amp just made crunchy noises, as if the battery was running down, and died. I'm guessing some interior part needs replacing. Any ideas whatit could be?

I'd some amp years ago that went out with a fizz (wasn't totally clear because it was mid practice) and i've some recollection it was the death of the power supply.

I haven't a notion. I'll have to bring it to a grown up to have a look.
