I mean it'd be a shit song either way but the blatent stealing of Prince's groove/synth and guitar lines just double annoys me on this one

Found a tape of my brother as a child singing When Santa Got Stuck up the Chimney in the thick dub accent we all had back then and my brain immediately thought it was a Lankum track.

Yeah - but it's RICK at his best !
when I was looking at this before someone commented that Rick's guitarist
looks like Michael Bolton (who was still a hard rock singer then)

I suppose you've seen the TV ad for Rick James' 1980 Tour with special guest .... Prince ?

saw a documentary on hip-hop last summer on Sky Arts where the Furious Five guys said their fashion sense was due to believing Rick and Prince were their rivals and they needed to dress accordingly.
