Gav Cowley, formerly of Boxes and Glimmermen, has a new ep out with his new project Carpark Sci-fi. It’s brilliant. First tune on it is excellent

'Toquel No Sol' - Marlene Ribeiro.

Not sure if this was posted already, because it might be of interest to some here... released on Rocket Recordings which issue Gnod, and she lived for two years on the Roscommon side of Athlone.

I went to a show in Bradford that she was opening but missed her due to Ryanair delay, then was talking to her afterwards, and then my mate bought her album.

Nice record... middle part feels like a tropicalia Grouper? No, that's silly. Vocals have that breezy feel you get from those early Tara Jane O'Neil records on Quarterstick from the 90s.

It's a great album. She was in Gnod for about ten years too.
