'Earthbound Tranmissions' by Scanner/Robin Rimbaud. New old record from this elder statesman of electronic music.

Damn, I'm almost out of free listens on this one. Worth a punt if you like Mordant Music, The Black Dog, and the alienating side of electronic/concrete/ sampling. Love the samples of old conversations spliced with these dread-invoking drones [see 'Drones Places 2'].

Lawrence English's Room 40 label is firing out the releases this year, but this is the most engaging one I've heard.

Lindsey Buckingham's first album on ten years. Not on bc, but I think you can listen on other formats which I have never knowingly used.

Only have one album of his released in 1980. Got it in Oxfam for 4 quid. Top pop songwriting.

Lp arrived in the post this morning. So good. Definitely need to up my Sonny Vincent game.

Pleasant instrumental fare running a mild baton between ploopy, ploppy synth and clean pedal steel.

Well, this new Sufjan collab LP sounds pretty lovely on first listen

oh, that's actually out. I had a wander around the record shops in town at lunchtime but no sign of it.

Skeeter Shelton - Tenor Sax, Folk Flute, Pan Flute
Hamid Drake - Drums and Percussion

We're a bit short on free jazz sax and percussion duos in here... very clean sound.

Hamid Drake - he's a big kid in the modern free jazz world, isn't he? Like up there with someone like Han Bennink. Shelton is completely new to me, but he's kicking some serious sax ass here.

The production is very spare. Nice.

I've always meant to check this lad out . Judging from this he's certainly had a major influence on other artists... assuming he is the originator of this kinda wet pants indie folk

Its nice. Easy listening. Incredible, technically. But the whispering takes a bit of getting used to.

@Nate Champion turned me on to this guy last year and it was in and around my no 1 album of the year - pretty much the finest droney clarinet workouts I've encountered, in a field of one.
*Original Post Here*

Anyways, dude is back with a follow up, this time focusing on droney guitar workouts, definitely more competition in this field, but it's still pretty standoutish.

I was apprehensive when I pressed play... no Steve Jones....but thats not a bad song!
Yeah,as with the previous record the lack of Jonesy made me nervous. But once I approached it as more of a Yo-Yos record I got into it.

Tom Spencer(guitar /vocals) was in the Yo-Yos
