Listening to the new Johnny Jewel release on spotify, Themes For Television. Mainly instrumentals that were made for the third season of Twin Peaks but the idea was abandoned by Lynch. Clear to hear the obvious Twin Peaks/Badalamenti sound in them. Which is alright by me. Nice listen.

Had a bit of a listen to the album over the weekend. That bit did stick out. It was bit of a wtf moment.

In fairness, I've listened to it a lot over the last few days and It's starting to grow on me

the singles work much better as part of the album.

Still a big change in direction but not quite as terrible as I first thought. I may even grow to love it . We'll see.

Truth be told I haven't given any of their stuff since the first album a proper listen. I had that album on repeat for ages. I even gave it another listen over the weekend.

I commented elsewhere that the Danse Macabre song sounds like something you'd have head unironically on Miami Vice.

Been listening to the album a good bit. I like it but every time I hear Dance Macabre I'm picturing a Duran Duran video.
