    Steely Dan - Gaucho (1980)

I think I listened to it once and don't remember anything about it. I'll give it another bash.

I was just listening to the new covers album by Bill Callahan and Bonnie Prince Billy and when Deacon Blues came on I just turned off the album and put on Aja instead.

Just had a listen to The Nightfly there. It's amazing. Will definitely pick up a copy. The price of the gig is just too steep. Would love to go though. I saw a poster for it on a bus shelter on my way to work this morning. Steve Winwood supporting. I reckon it'll be great.

    Steely Dan - Gaucho (1980)

gave this it's first spin (for me) of 2018. Still amazing. There was loads of Steeley Dan on the radio over new year's too cos of those lads not being alive anymore. I think it'll be a 2018 thing for me to go through their whole back catalog. So good.

    Steely Dan - Gaucho (1980)

Steeley Dan playing the 3arena soon. I'm thinking some kind of thumped outing is in order. @pete can pay for all our tickets. And anyone that doesn't go is a sap. You free that night @Cornu Ammonis ?

    Steely Dan - Gaucho (1980)

Wrapping up my efforts on this without a lot else to add. I did like it, though maybe not for the reasons others like it. For me the sound encapsulates a mood or a time when I was a young lad. There were songs that made me think of smoky underground clubs with purplely velvet seats and brown...

and this song, which also isn't on gaucho (or even by steely dan) reminds me of yet more reasons to like gaucho

    Steely Dan - Gaucho (1980)

so we have a new problem in that his name is the same as that trump cunt. But anyway, Gaucho keeps making me think of this song. which is deadly and which, in turn, reminds me off which is all the more reason to like gaucho

this is the acid test. @Cornu Ammonis needs to get the bus to Portarlington and walk around listening to it. He owes it to thumped

    Steely Dan - Gaucho (1980)

I'm on my second listen now. It needs more of that female backing singer. Her bits are great. Fagen is grand and all but he gets a bit tedious after a while when its just him. Overall I'm liking it though.
