If punctures are persistent then the best thing to do is upgrade your tyres at some point which can make a big difference. Then again you might be alright and just get the odd one which are easy enough to fix anyway.

I got new tyres recently 28mm width which is a full 3mm wider than the last ones. I don't think I can fit anything much wider on the frame. They are really great though I wasn't comfortable on the narrow narrow 25s with no grips.

It would be tricky to do and you'd probably need some specific bike tools to try it you could also put a new hub in the wheel by taking off the spokes or maybe buy a new wheel
