    "The Untouchable" by John Banville. Took me a few weeks to get through it, but worth the effort as however dense his works, Banville's prose is a thing to admire.

    "The Andromeda strain" by Michael Crichton, a little too science heaby but a pretty nifty thriller all the same. also getting stuck into "the concrete blonde" by Michael Connelly, a good page turner.

    Kitchen Confidential is a great read. The whole celebrity chef thing is getting over populated and tedious, but this guy is the genuine article.

    Finished reading "Hide and Seek" by Ian Rankin which was enjoyable now making good progress on "Fatherland" by Robert Harris, tis keeping me gripped so far.

    been reading "the hotel new hampshire" by john irving, typically eccentric and brilliant. tucking into "charlie wilsons war" on the side, enjoyable read too, will rent the flick when it comes out on dvd but i imagine the film omits alot of detail from the book.

    yeah, came out in November, I think it's better then Christine Falls and apparently he completed the third "Quirke" book in a number of weeks.

    i agree with you on the border trilogy, found it too much of a chore. much less of a chore is "miracles of life" JG Ballards autobiography which I started on Friday.

    "A murder of quality" by John Le Carre and now onto his "break through" novel "The Spy who came in from the cold".

    "Lennon: The definitive biography" by Ray Coleman. Not sure how definitive it is, but it is very good all the same.

    finished "call for the dead" by john le carre and mid way through "the quiet american" by graham greene. both highly recommended.

    "The Nasty Bits" by Anthony Bourdain, very entertaining, he's a great writer and is a genuinely interesting "celebrity chef".

    I actually liked On Chesil Beach too, one of the few McEwan books that I have read, that I actually liked.
