Only time I've seen Christie was at Glastonbury in 03 or 04. Mid afternoon set on the pyramid stage. I'd say a good 90% of the Irish population of the festival site turned out for him

I will say though, in spite of their rep as being a bit shit, despite it obviously not being universally true (Malkmus obviously leans into the sloppyness a bit) I didn't realise how good a drummer Steve West is. Nothing fancy but plays with a really nice feel and touch.

It does seem that way. I said to one of the people I'd watched it with on the way out that I hadn't been mad about it and another just said "don't want to be here for THIS conversation" and walked away. People did look really happy after it.
