Just reread the thread, apparently i liked the second album in the end? I hope they top the charts worldwide, why not. Let's hear them write a 2022 Every Breath You Take, come on lads, up your game to the levels of Sting and Elton John.

Their best track is still Big, not this "i discovered a chorus pedal" nonsense, but you have to keep moving forward i guess, and good for them. As for "the kids" liking them, is that the case? Circa just-before-the-pandemic their crowds were pretty grey bearded. Maybe Weller not being from...

This is the first time they have ever actually sounded like Whipping Boy! Woeful stuff altogether. I think I've said it before on here that their representation of Dublin is pretty valid to me as it's a representation that no one who is actually from Dublin could do. It's kind of cool to me...

The Guardian is just twitter with a higher character limit. If you're actually asking @prefuse,it's considered a liberal newspaper, with all that entails. Not everyone likes that ideological position. I read the guardian website every day, sure.

The Whatmans were great whatmen for a press release. After a whirlwind year of support slots to sellout gigs by the Coronas and Fight Like Apes the Whatmans have more than earned the title of the hardest working band in Ireland. Combining the skillmanship of Jimmy the Hat on drums, Kevin O'Shea...

Ok, have now listened to the whole thing, there's a lot more than Joy Division-y stuff on there. Pleasantly surprised. I miss the big obvious choruses of the first album but it's decent! Yer mans accent still sounds phony and there's some dodgy lyrics but, well, so be it. Gwan the lads.

Interesting, https://thequietus.com/articles/28689-fontaines-dc-a-hero-s-death-review Outgrowing Joy Division and overblown inverted paddywhackery, it’s a largely nuanced and, most blessedly of all, believable affair. If anything I hear about a billion more Joy Division influences on this...
