I keep putting on this album and giving up half a song in cos it all sounds so twee. I don't care if there's secretly dark lyrics if I can't get past the music itself o_O Gonna try again now in a sec though.

Robert Christgau writing here in what looks like 1976 (based on the Sparks advert) rates it almost as highly as the Velvet Underground album and better than the Zappa album. Have to say i'm struggling with it on first listen.

Been meaning to listen to this for years now, looking forward to it!
