  5. Lili Marlene

    Prince - 1999 (1982)

Some lad who knows what he's talking about on this set: They seemingly felt the need to leave the best material from that era off of the set... Half assed and insulting cash grab and everyone is falling for it... LOL good old Prince.

  7. Lili Marlene

    Prince - 1999 (1982)

Ah no problem, sure I love talking deep Prince theory. A book came out (link) there a year or two ago detailing his studio sessions in 1983/84, I don't necessarily recommend it unless you're a fan but when you read it you see how his absolute dedication to the craft over everything else in his...

  9. Lili Marlene

    Prince - 1999 (1982)

Hello Nuke, his best LP is probably a three way tie between Dirty Mind, Purple Rain and Sign O the Times. My favourite is Parade. 17 Days Lost count. I have pretty much every Prince album 'physically' in some form, except Kama Sutra and One Nite Alone, which i'm not willing to shell out super...

    Prince - 1999 (1982)

haha Maura Johnston is one of my favourite music critics, it's good to be beaten by the best! She didn't even call anything "knotty" or "rococo", although she did use the word "taut".

  14. Lili Marlene

    Prince - 1999 (1982)

Chaos and Disorder! haha C&D is a cool album but it's definitely one of his throwaway ones where he's mainly just having a bit of fun. He released it about 4 months before releasing a triple album!

  17. Lili Marlene

    Prince - 1999 (1982)

Great post! It's fair to call the 80's a golden era, the early 90's are dodgy as hell but with some hits. Diamonds and Pearls was precision engineered to sell as many copies as possible, and it's second only to Purple Rain in his album sales. It's like his Michael Jackson album or something...
  18. Lili Marlene

    Prince - 1999 (1982)

WHO TOLD YOU ALL THAT???? As Prince's official licenced biographer I will see you in court! You CANNOT just tell these SUPER INJUCTION protected stories without the proper paperwork. I... I'm at a loss here.
