Yah, it was Give It To Me that "alerted me to her presence" I keep thinking about how if she was/had the budget and sponsership of OKGO she'd have an actual rollercoaster constructed to go along with the emotional peaks of the song and it'd all be one take.

The whole album is A+ but Stop Talking and Stock Image are such wonderfully emotional pop songs for me.

Am enjoying the new Esperenza Spalding album. She's apparently, uh, transcending her body or something after this album. It's good though, jazz-rock maybe? but not in a sprawling 20 minute improv way, a bit rootsier.

Was very surprised to find myself really enjoying that Lets' Eat Grandma album I was expecting more "avant garde pop" i.e. couldn't be bothered to write a song on top of a garageband loop of seagulls squawking or whatever, but it's actually got a lot of quiet psych stuff and kinda meditative...

Finally got around to listening to that SOPHIE album... Proper musical edgelord stuff - meta-deconstructive pop music by people who hate anyone who actually likes pop music. They clearly think they've figured out the formula to hack the charts and the New York Times and Pitchfork cover it...

I like to pretend I loved his last album but I mostly just play The Rhythm Changes on repeat and never play the other 70 hours of it except as background music.

Is that SOPHIE album any good? I usually feel fatigued under the cynicism of all that PC Music (AND RELATED) anti-pop pop music stuff after about 10 seconds.
