Selling on Discogs - any advice?

I turned my want list email off. Too much temptation and trying to cut down on buying records. Which has worked but now I’m buying more books instead! As for feedback, I generally leave the buyer feedback as soon as I send the item. Sometimes you get a feeling about someone who is going to be...

Selling on Discogs - any advice?

I did get ripped off by someone who had built up about ten positive ratings, listed a bunch of normally expensive stuff at reasonable prices and then sent nothing to anyone. You could see the point when people cottoned on to him in the feedback. (I got my money back.)

If he’s not engaging with you, then I’d escalate it to a paypal claim and send him a reasonable message saying that you hate to have to do it but as he’s not responding you felt you needed to go that route and hopefully he can still sort it out.

It's not a Japanese psych rock record, is it? I had a similar situation over a Shinki Chen album and just ended up taking it down from sale and blocking him.

Selling on Discogs - any advice?

Somewhat but I imagine a shop will offer you less because they will sell them at those prices in order to make a profit.

Selling on Discogs - any advice?

I had a guy who bought an LP and then spent fucking days asking me specific questions about the pressing, the condition, etc. and no sign of payment. Eventually I cancelled the order and kept the LP. Not worth the hassle. The guy seemed upset then but it was a €20 purchase for something not that...

Selling on Discogs - any advice?

I'd always send a reminder before doing anything, usually you get back an embarrassed "Sorry!" and the payment. I'd rather be nice and hope they order something again.

Selling on Discogs - any advice?

ebay is too much hassle with its fees for every occasion, discogs is much more straightforward. As for whether one is better than the other in terms of getting the right people to buy your stuff, I don't know.

I've never been asked for feedback, I always wait til after they have received it and are happy.

Selling on Discogs - any advice?

In fairness, I'm sure there are plenty of people on another forum slagging off some Irish guy for all the weirdo drone/avant garde shite he buys. We all win in our own little ways.

Selling on Discogs - any advice?

Yeah, leave it listed long enough and it turns out that someone out there (usually from Lithuania) does actually want to buy a knackered copy of Kittie's album.

Selling on Discogs - any advice?

I always get something completely different for each package I bring up to the post office and it rarely matches the charts on the an post site. I use paypal for payments.
