Yes, there are production companies dedicated to making trailers. There was a story going around a few years ago that the Suicide Squad movie was so unsalvageable that they hired one of these trailer companies to edit the actual movie to get something useable out of it. (Spoiler: they didn’t.)

Yes but it’s a major commitment. The first chunk of the book is a bit of a bewildering slog but suddenly it all clicks into place and it is magnificent. The only thing I could do without is his chapter written in Joycean/Finnegans Wakean punning. It’s really long and not entirely necessary (but...
