Great stuff Anthony, sounds awesome. Your bandmate sitting second from left in the cover photo is the spit of Dave Rowntree from Blur (in that photo at least :) )

    Fierce Shook - Luthite

oops - just saw the lyrics on bandcamp. 'I had to get away',

    Fierce Shook - Luthite

Aw man, super stuff. The guitars on the chorus bit where you're singing 'I hope to get away' (I think?) sound huge. Video is great too :)

    No Bother - Meanwhile EP

Not exactly new, but new to streaming… my first ep as a 'solo' band. A self-produced and recording odyssey that sounds pretty decent. Broadly speaking, I'm hoping fans of the usual mid eighties to mid 2000s alternative rock culprits (Dino Jr, Pavement, Yo la tengo, Lemonheads, Archers of Loaf...

New from The Middle Ages for bandcamp Friday

Yowza! Yes, sounds amazing. That's the dream– minimal set up/maximal sound.

Great stuff Anthony! Production is awesome on it, lovely tones off the guitars and drums sound class.

A Bandcamp Waiving Fees Day Thread

Thanking you sir. Yeah, totally in that lineage. Archers of Loaf too. There's bits and bobs where I'll colour outside the lines a bit more but it all seems to come back to that late 80's to mid 00's period of melodic indie/alternative rock.

Cheers Sleepy! Really appreciate that - it's a funny tune that one. I loved it when I first wrote the bones of it, but I got stuck on the verse melody. I had to leave it alone for about 6 months before I could come back to it and it sort of opened up again. My favourite bit was recording the...

    Celebrity Creeps Thread

Yeah, that's awfully telling isn't it? Stenches of self righteousness and arrogance especially in light of the bands statement where they say he hasn't engaged with anyone or attempted to change his ways. Sad sad stuff. Heavy band in many ways – iknow they'd all been through the wringer...

    Minor Musical Observations

I would have been too young to appreciate it. My music tastes were only transitioning from 2Unlimited to Nirvana in 1993

    Minor Musical Observations

That Bleeding Rectum/Fleas and Lice split was deadly! I played it all summer on a moody teenage holiday with my folks back in '96. I'd say my dalliance with hardcore and crust, ahem, crested with that particular release. ha.

What gig did you go to last night?

Went to Big Brave and Perculator last night. Really really great. Only caught the end of Perculators set, but the sound was fantastic. I haven't been in the Lower Deck in about 10 years, glad to see they took away those redundant pillars that used to be at the side of the stage (I hope the...

    Grinderman 2

Gross! Yeah, not a job I'd want. I like their music a fair bit but especially love the theatricality of Dirty Three. I know some of the performance is probably contrived, but I could watch Jim White sway around the drum kit all day.

Straight up, that's what I need to hear :)

    Grinderman 2

I love Ellis live. His between song banter/rambling anecdotary is probably the best of any artist. Saw Grinderman live a couple of times over the years, thought they were great but was never bothered with the studio albums. Never know where to start with Nick Cave. I want to like his stuff...

Yeah man, best thing I did for my mental health in 2022 was deleting my account. I was in the exact same loop.
