    Little Biting Insects

Not the name of a band, just a quick rant about the hundreds of little bitey bastards that have absolutely besieged my house tonight. Little or no problem with them at the Picnic, then my first night home and the garage is completely taken over by them. They're waiting outside every door and...

    Help! Dual-Booting Problem

I've just received the new PC that I was planning to buy over in the What Computer? thread, and I'm currently trying to get it to dual boot Vista and Ubuntu. I partitioned my hard drive, set the machine to boot from CD and put in the Ubuntu CD. It then asked me what I wanted to do and I selected...

    What Computer?

I have: a maximum of €1000 to spend I would like: a new computer. It can be a laptop, or a desktop if I'll be getting considerably more for my money. I'd like it to be able to run fairly up-to-date games and programs, but I'm not that bothered so long as I get value for money. Ideally: I would...

    Human Amusements At Hourly Rates

I was reminded of this compilation of Guided By Voices singles by Jane's thread suggesting Back To The Lake as a perfect pop song. I don't think I've ever heard a compilation so packed with brilliant songs that stay with you for ages. I bought the album in France a few years back, I'd say I was...

    Night Shift

This is a big load of my hole. I'm sitting at this here reception drinking coffee till eight in the morning, and I've to do it about forty times in the next few weeks. Bored, bored, bored. At least I have a 'pooter I suppose. Anyone else out there work nights?

    Wii remote refuses to sync

The batteries for noth of my brother's Wii remotes ran out recently, and now the remotes won't work even though there are nice new batteries in 'em. Any advice? We've tried synchronising them again, but they don't seem to recognise the Wii's presence.

    Anti-Cannabis Campaign

The Australian Department of Health has launched a new ad campaign against cannabis use. It goes: "Pot: it won't kill you, but it might turn you into a dickhead". Sheer brilliance.

    666

I don't know who it was that told me I was on post number 665, but thanks to them I've an excuse for starting this thread. w00t!

    I Cut The Top Off...

...my finger. Seriously, it's nasty. Nice big slice taken off it. Bled all over the place and I almost fainted, now it just hurts like a cunt (with red-hot pokers jammed up it). Safety razors my arse.

    Starting to take photies

I'm considering starting a mild obsession with photography, in an inexpensive way. I just keep seeing things that'd make fucking great photos. Anyhoo, can yez spill any advice on what to buy? T'would be much appreciated.

George Galloway storms out of UCC threatening legal action

Gorgeous George was speaking in favour of the motion 'That this house believes US FOreign Policy to be the greates crime since WW2' at a Philosoph debate. To dispense with all the boring stuff: Gerry Gregg, the opposition speaker, said something along the lines of 'there isn't a dictator that...

    Frostie's Kid

That yungfla who sang 'They're gonna taste great' in the Frostie's ad: is he or is he not dead? I heard this morning he was killed in a car crash, but his death has been the subject of loads of rumours for ages. Anyone know the true story?

    Blackboard

I'm not sure whether it's just UCC or if every university uses this damned lecture notes retrieval system. The only reason I'm on Thumped now is because I've been spending the last half an hour clicking.... and waiting.... and clicking.... and waiting.... for it to load my lectures. Why must...

    Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud

Just reviewed by Tom Doorley in the Irish Times. He says it's excellent, and that dinner for two with wine cost €471. Apparently it was worth it, but personally I don't see how that's possible. It makes me feel vaguely sick.

    Goodbye, Thumped

I'm going to manage to kick my posting habit by moving to college where I won't have a computer. I considered starting this thread last night when I was bollixed drunk to tell ye all how much I love ye, but I obviously wasn't quite drunk enough. Anyhoo, I'll be an extremely irregular poster from...
