Some 2019 favourites are:
Cate Le Bon (my Spotify of the decade; on-topic)
Gruff Rhys (to my surprise)
Some of the Sampa the Great LP
Jaysus. 1989. I became obsessed with this record after seeing Chris Cornell and Kim Thayil interviewed by Vanessa Warwick on Headbanger's Ball. They were eating apples and being cheeky, then they played the Hands All Over video and I was sold. Listened to the LP again last night. Still great.
Also: The Jesus thing was probably the most discomfiting thing I could have heard on a record in 1998 as someone with a binary, reactionary attitude to religion who grew up listening to songs about Satan.
Maybe it's because I first heard this years ago before being quite so jaded but I still love this yoke too. Yes, he has a voice like a foghorn and there are no dynamics to his strumming, but I love the tunes, the instrumentation, the visceral production, Julian Koster's saw-and-what-have-you...
