DF: Richard Keogh, Marc Wilson, Seamus Coleman, Cyrus Christie, John O’Shea, Alex Pearce, Paul McShane, Ciaran Clark, Stephen Ward
MF: Wes Hoolahan, Harry Arter, Glenn...
Sorry lads I tried with Oman but they don't seem to have an easily-accessible list of historical villains anywhere..
Slightly weird squad from O'Neill, with four keepers including the return of Shay Given and six strikers including Daryl Murphy and Kev Doyle who is still stuck in the...
He's decided to call it a day with Ireland:
I hoped he'd stick around for one more campaign, but you can hardly begrudge him with the great service
he gave down the years and the number of injuries he's had lately. It's a...
This Saturday.. Moved forward 6 months earlier than normal to accommodate the lengthy South American & Asian schedules, I believe.
Bit weird that it's happening before the Euro 2012 qualifiers are done and well over a year before the first matches in the UEFA section but there you go.
Russia and Qatar.. 2 countries with an awful lot of logistical issues, particularly Qatar. I wonder how many palms were greased to get those through? England knocked out in the first round, apparently.
The draw for the qualifying groups is tomorrow morning at 11am.. RTE2 are showing it if anybody's interested.
Pot 1: Spain, Germany, Holland, Italy, England, Croatia, Portugal, France, Russia
Pot 2: Greece, Czech, Sweden, Switzerland, Serbia, Turkey, Denmark, Slovakia, Romania
Pot 3: Israel...
No early team announcement this time but looking like it could be:
Kelly Dunne O'Shea Kilbane
McGeady Whelan Andrews Duff
Or Gibson instead of Andrews.
Worried about the two lads in central midfield getting overrun as...
The guy's a bit of a legend, but is it a good idea for Bobby Robson to come back working for us? I really admire his enthusiasm and determination to bounce back but listening to him talk on Newstalk last night he sounded like your...
No snooker forum, so this is probably the only place to post this:
Poor guy - I knew he was being treated for stomach cancer but I'd no idea it was so serious. RIP.
Only eight days to this... does anyone here give us a remote chance? Are we likely to see any moments like Houghton in 88? I'd absolutely love to see us get something, I hate to see shitheads like Dunphy already baying for Stan to go. On the plus side, Keane and Duff seem to be in good form, we...
Hello everybody... some info I was asked to pass on:
A gig is being put on in the Sugar Club on January 10th in aid of Cystic Fibrosis Ireland www.cfireland.ie
Delorentos and The Immediate will be playing.
Doors are at 8 and it’s 10 euro in.
Great bands! Great cause!
Anyone here ever seen this?
Pathe newsreel report of an Ireland vs England game from Goodison park in 1949. And we beat them and all! With a bit of help from the 'forbidden area'...
Has anyone else seen this? Basically a road movie featuring a young Ernesto 'Che' Guevara plus his chubby friend travelling around South America on a crappy motorbike. I really liked it.. it works well as a 'buddy' movie / coming of age flick, there's also a surprising amount of humour and the...
Performing at the Sidewalk Cafe (Cathal Brugha St), Wednesday February 11th:
AUGUSTINE - a new dublin 4-piece, sound a little bit like tindersticks or the red house painters
THE MARSHAL STARS - raw blues-styled rock, full of explosive guitar hooks
BUSINESS - 'robot rock' of the highest...
Can anyone recommend me somewhere in Dublin where I could pick up a mic preamp (as cheap as possible, preferrably)? I want to use my mindisc player to record rehearsals, gigs, etc.. but managed cunningly to pick up a model (the MZ-N505) which has a line-in socket but no mic socket.
..from Iceland, an interview with them is currently getting airplay on XFM every so often. They're a duo I think, kind of ambient\electronic type music.. I really like a couple of the songs played with the interview but didn't manage to catch the name of the band.
