Apologies for dragging this one back up again, but he’s a prick.
I’m fairly sure I posted about him here years ago after he went out of his way to humiliate me in the middle of town because I had the audacity to be a young mum out with her child on her own.
He said a lot of shitty stuff to me...
Yep I’m noticing that too, but it’s a bubble thing.
In the country, I know a lot of civil servants so other than farmers, most people in in contact with are working from home.
Back in Dublin I’d mainly know tradies and shop workers, and they’re all back in work now.
We still haven’t been able to get my Dad out of Thailand yet. The army showed up at his village two weeks ago for an inspection while I was FaceTiming him. He wanted to go out and film them so I could see. Took a while to explain why videoing men with guns wasn’t a good idea.
Maybe society needs a breakdown, and Covid is it.
The same way some people live in suppressed misery for decades until they have a breakdown. Then they can begin to address their problems and get better.
I’m still holding on to the hope that this could be a societal do-over or something.
Anyone making plans for a second wave?
Limerick was pretty busy yesterday, including a group of about 10 English guys that were heading into a pub when I saw them (maybe a stag party?) and with the videos from Dame lane, we could be screwed.
I met up with a friend yesterday for coffee in Limerick city.
I’ve called over to him a few times and chatted to him from his doorway, and text the odd time, but I’m the only person his spoken to face to face since March.
He’s left the house maybe 5 times to get shopping and that’s it.
My Dad is still stuck in Thailand. I’m not sure how much is a logistical issue and how much is down to him just not wanting to come home.
I’ve a pretty solid argument this time for arguing against him visiting again at Christmas, which was his plan.
The kid has been studying every day since the lock down, except for one weekend. Going with her mocks, she doesn’t have a hope of getting the course she wants, which she stood a good chance of getting in the actual exams in July.
I know there’s no good solution here but it’s a bit gutting.
