Went to see Teenage Fanclub in Glasgow last week, 3 nights, playing their Creation albums - 1991-1997. Absolutely brilliant gigs. Also going to see them in London on Nov 15th for Gerry Love's last gig ;(

Saw Lost Horizons (Simon Raymonde/Cocteau Twins/Bella Union) in Grand Social last night - decent gig for a Monday.

Mulatu Astatke in Sugar Club - great gig; superb band on great form and a packed house.

But i thought the lead guitar guy was pretty amazing though!!

I quite liked that, the fact that he just noodled along during some songs, and as my mate said "he's not Bono"; it's not about him, it's about the songs and the message. I thought the backing singers were fantastic to watch too; your man Jonathan Wilson has some voice.

I thought it was an amazing show; superb sound and visuals. Amazing that some songs written 40 or so years ago still have relevance today too; or at least still work when recontextualised. He was terrific; I loved the kids in guantanamo jumpsuits and of course the inflatable pig and scary dark...

Yeah for sure there is an element of that; but i have to say I really did enjoy the gig. I only saw him once before a few years ago doing Paris 1919 but i thought the Nch gig was much better. You have to indulge him i think as he doesn't necessarily do the "hits" and he messes around with songs...

Yeah i could barely see the drummer; stage set up looked a bit messy. The bass player was amazing i thought!

I was at that too, I thought it was great. NCH doesn't always work for rock gigs, but I thought the sound for Cale was superb, and the visuals were great too. One of the things I like about seeing gigs there is the lack of what a mate of mine calls gigwankers. You don't get cnuts talking through...

This tends to happen to me, what seems ALL the time. If it's not the tallest fucker in the room standing right in front of me, it's the cnut with the biggest head in the city sitting right in front of me. Always. I am cursed.

Jaypers! I like her stuff; they followed up the first lp only a few months later and obviously they've more new stuff now.

Yep i enjoyed it too; didn't expect them to be a 3 piece (lead guitarist is off doing solo stuff) but they were great. Quality songs. I didn't know she had solo stuff out?
