I saw a thing in the garden

Haven't seen a healthy, non dead at the side of the road hedgehog for years until this weekend. saw him scurrying behind the recycling bin when I pulled in in the car. Half an hour later I heard the rattle of a saucer i use to feed the cat outside. Had often heard this rattle and presumed it...

Just stumbled upon this this evening online(Uzun Havalar by Anadol) , after a couple of listens on spotify had to pull the trigger and bought a copy of it from her bandcamp. pretty much an instrumental record. touches all corners here. bit of jazz, synths taking flight, bit spaced out at times...

Arachnophobia - you know, spiders and stuff

The biggest of the fuckers in my place always appear above the front door inside. My simple theory over the years was that there is easy enough access through the fairly flimsy door frame. That article doesnt help the bit of an arachnophobe in me at all

    the arcade fire

since then. yeah, I think Funeral was one of the last debuts where a ridiculous amount of all sorts of people were ranting and raving about it. For better or worse. Strokes a few years earlier was equally as big. Arctic Monkeys around their 1st album were huge alright. Never heard anything by...

    Fontaines DC

wouldn't be a fan of them at all but fair dues to them etc. I was surprised to see how generally liked they were in this thread alright though. (if i'm remembering correctly from reading it a few months back). would have thought they were in for an all-in shitting on from thumped

    the arcade fire

have fond ol memories of that 1st arcade fire album I must say. saw me out of my last few months of an Arts degree that year. loads of memories of causal drinking of cans and chain smoking packets of drum with that in the background. good times. culminated nicely with the EP 05. Was sick shit of...

giving that Utopia Strong album a listen on spotify. The band Steve Davis is involved in. (Dunno in what capacity). sounds decent. bits of krautrock and dub techno popping in and out so far. if nothing else the album cover looks great. managed to blatantly put in a snooker reference in a...

went to see Swan Lake/Loch na hEala in Cork last week. Jesus, it was amazing. completely unfamiliar with the original Swan Lake idea but this contemporary Irish take on whatever it is is amazing. This productionis around a few years now so im sure it's been through Dublin once or twice. Mikel...

    Upcoming Gigs of Interest

i hear ya. 90s bands in particular are loving making a bit of wonga off nostalgia. Can't say I was surprised to see this crowd come back. The majority of what I'd want to hear would be from the first two aswell as I've never really seen that stuff live aside from a short festival slot.

    Upcoming Gigs of Interest

Yeah, only saw them a couple of times around 2001 or 2002. Academy in Dublin and Reading Festival. Would imagine it'll sell out reasonably quickly.
