Folk Horror (1 Viewer)

This was his next (and final) house where he wrote “The Haunter of the Dark”. It used to be on a different street when he lived there but they moved the whole house to build a big university building on the original site.

Cemetery at the Cathedral of St. John Episcopal - not only did Lovecraft hang around here but so did Edgar Allan Poe as (one of) his fiancée(s) lived next to it (and he lived in Providence for a time, which I never knew).

Ordered The Child Of The Stones Soundtrack from Trunk there a week or 2 ago. Arrived the other day and gave it a spin earlier. a one sided LP. Absolutely bonkers stuff. It's been a good few years since I watched it so had a vague enough memory of the soundtrack. Isolated from the dialogue etc it is seriously whacky stuff. Great though! To think this was for kids' Tv when listening to this is bananas. You get a poster of the of the painting that features heavily in the series too if bought through the website.

Happy Day, y'all

Mine was sent yesterday. This is more of a "collectible" than a new addition to my record collection. I can't imagine I'll listen to it that much, but what a cool thing.
I have the dvd of the series, but I think its also in YouTube. I feel a rewatch coming on.

Bizarrely, I’ve never watched it.

It's full of nostalgia for those of us of a certain age who looked and dressed like these kids.

But getting past that, it's a genuinely spooky tale; classic folk horror of the fish out of water in a weird new environment. The adult cast is also great and their relationships with the kids is believable.

Definitely worth a watch.

Kinda looks like if Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars did a folk horror film.

I've been reading a fair bit of folk stuff but have little interest in the horror aspect, anyone else in a similar boat?

Maybe more in the realm of weird/uncanny than folk horror but…
