Blair, for all his faults, had a sort of charisma and came across as someone with an actual vision for the country's future.. Starmer, presumably in reaction to the 2019 election, just seems terrified of expressing any sort of stance that could be conveyed as vaguely leftish or un-British, to the point where he appears to stand for nothing other than dull competence. It'd be funny if the whole thing turns out to be just a strategic long game, like he manages to get elected PM and instantly on getting into no 10 makes the hardest left turn imaginable, nationalizing every significant industry etc.
