A weird thing happens on the new posts page sometimes

All posts

There'll be a link there to a thread with a new post and when I click on the link it just disappears and the new post is no longer listed there as new/unread even though I never saw it or read it.

It would be cool if you could disable the auto-refresh thing on that page when the search box is visible. You really have to be on your toes to type your query correctly and submit it before the page refreshes and you have to start again.

I've seen the first thing happen myself and i'm not entirely sure what's going on... as for the second,
