People Who Died (12 Viewers)

I saw Roxette a few years back, 2013 maybe? They were more or less what you'd expect - great and terrible in equal measures.

I suppose being Swedish they weren't too far off ABBA in that:

1) they were a decade older than everyone else but still looked better than them,
2) they had absolutely no taste
3) even the biggest curmudgeon secretly likes a song or two by them

Rest in Peace so

Isn't that why the Swedes are so musically successful?
They circumvent our bullshit hardcoded cultural affectations - i.e. they get to be sincere, which is a hard field to plough for a lot of native English speakers.

I'd say so yeah, but only when it works, which is why so many of them can write great tracks but very few of them can write great albums. Max Martin, for all his talent for hitmaking, is a pretty one dimensional songwriter.

Jim Smith (1940 -2019)
football manager.
'The Bald Eagle' managed many clubs (nearly 1,500 matches puts him
in the top ten in the world all time list)
starting as boss of Boston Utd, he moved into League with Colchester
in 1972.
he won 5 promotions and regularly overachieved with his clubs most notably
Birmingham, Oxford, QPR in the 80's and Derby in the 90's.
he later was assistant to Harry Redknapp at several clubs.

Surprisingly bigger clubs never gave him a shot.
thought he deserved more of a tribute than the below articles
but they'll have to do as it's hard to cover a long and well travelled
career.
