"De Bom Bom" is the logical next step from Dublin's Girl Band. Formed a couple of years back and influenced by the likes of Bad Brains, Swell Maps, James Chance and the Contortions, Neu, The Birthday Party, Ben Frost and minimal techo, they take their melting pot of influences and create something almost indefineable.

After a 7 minute single in "Lawman" at the start of the year, and a 24 second follow-up in "The Cha Cha Cha", "De Bom Bom" sits somewhere in the middle at a more manageable lenth of just-over-3-minutes, the perfect "radio single" length. But that's where the pop similarities end. As visceral as ever, this propulsive and rhythmic noise is entirely their own - and one they wrote, recorded and mixed themselves.

Released on 7" by Dublin's Any Other City Records, "De Bom Bom" will be limited to 500 copies, each 100 wrapped in a different colour of card from Dark Blue to Dark Green and will feature a cover of Beat Happening's "I Love You" on its B-side.
