that made me go back and listen to the Bees.

I'm still pissed off they cancelled that gig in whelans 10 or 15 years ago. It was before twitter so was one of those you couldn't know about til you turned up. I'd already parked the car and prepaid parking, only to have to go back home 15 minutes later.

Never got to see them in the end.

some pretty cool sounding baroquish french pop with loads of hooks and tangents and a shitload of instruments. Band called Odessey And Oracle with a very Zombies looking LP cover. Which obviously caught my attention and was expecting to hear a quirky cover of the album that i'd abandon after 20 seconds. thankfully, not at all. The 3/4 songs I spotified sound fantastic. picked up the LP on Norman site but available at bandcamp above

Thanks! I saw an announcement about for this a few weeks ago. Then I saw another saying they had other bands on the bill. I skipped a gig last year cos I didn't feel like spending full whack for 20 mins of the band I wanted to see and be subjected to the other rubbish.
