God no. I've only had one letter arrive that used the code (and I've had plenty from government departments) and I've no intention of using them when sending letters.

Nope. Dublin already has postcodes that I can remember, no need to complicate things.

for mail order stuff involving couriers yes, I live in the middle of nowhere so notionally they could use it to look up the house. They normally still ring me to ask where I am though

I think when they split Dublin 6 in the 80s and everyone had a hissy fit they decided to stop for a while. Then the eircode thing was started up and it probably seemed pointless to make new zones in Dublin when a new modern postcode system was coming down the line.

Nah, I always give that place dirty looks when going by, I couldn't possibly work there.
