im having a problem setting the correct levels for recording a clean sounding electric guitar with a shure sm57. absolutely wrecking my head as the louder i try and record it the more rumble i get in the sound anyone got any advice for mic setup? im using a shure sm57 on a marshall av20

home recording software what about software? i use a br8 for home recording but i think it might give me a bit more flexability if i use a pc setup and maybe hook up my br8 what software would u recommend for samples, drums, synths without sounding too dancey?

a good mic is really important too, if youre just recording acoustic stuff and vocals then youre better off going for a decent condenser mic, i use an akg c1000, there a little bit on the pricey side but theyre perfect for home recording
