Have to agree on the Boards mod commentary as well. Most forums are grand but a few of them have mods that are completely unreasonable. I'm not mad on their policy of over categorisation either. Threads are meant to ramble and go where the conversation leads you. I don't think rigidly moderating...

torpid I'd say that's more of a funk or jazz track perhaps. There's a big movement in hip hop at the moment to rail against the oldschool stuff. Hence all the hipsterism. Read an interesting article about it lately...

I dress like a hipster but only because I don't hang around with many of them. Went to an MF Doom gig in London last year and there were 1000 people dressed exactly like me except they were skinnier and had better hair. Made me want to go home, shave my head and change into a XXL Rocawear.

Reason for the rave reviews is I think most blogs/magazines are staffed by critics well versed in rock and indie music but a bit ignorant of beat music so when someone repackages the sound in a singer songwritery context that's easy for them to digest they go apeshit because it's totally fresh...

Someone needs to set up some sort of alternative DJ night in Ennis. They had ones for a while used be on occasionally above Brogans. I'd say you'd be hard pushed trying to find somewhere to DJ chip tunes in Ennis/Limerick to be honest. Unless you organised a Soundcloud night or something. People...

I usually throw on Al Greens Greatest Hits in such situations. I once met a girl who put on ODB's Greatest Hits which I thought was an amazing choice but I had to tell her to turn it off after 10 minutes cos it was too distracting.

Fix The Cracks was a great single. Have fond memories of Tom Dunne going apeshit over it and playing it every evening for about two months. I've the first album around here somewhere picked it up for 1.99 in Zivago. Can't remember if it was much use.
