I think you are being a bit unfair. The basic dynamics of a record label (or any other business for that matter) are that you need to make something over costs to be able to put out the next release and also to give the artist royalties.

My apologies, you must have misunderstood the fact that we're a record label and not a registered charity.

The €8 includes free delivery worldwide. A cassette release was the bands preferred choice. To accommodate those not into gimmicks, bandwagons or Fianna Fail there is a download option for €3.

If nothing else this has generated more replies that any other of our posts from any other of our releases. So its a +1 for ye old spooling granny media. We haven't spent a great deal on this, limited edition and all that, and we're sure we'll sell them all. We'll be doing a vinyl release before...

Hee hee. Yeah, we've put a download card with each one so it's the best of both worlds. Even toyed with including a pencil for spooling disasters.

Yeah I think it was the novelty value that attracted us to it. In saying that the lead singer from Dolfish says that cassettes are still popular out in Columbus, Ohio so maybe it's not such a dead format after all. Cheers for the feedback, reassuring.
