BREXIT (7 Viewers)

JOB in that segment peppered 3-4 questions midway through lynch's answer to the another question.

It's not a great piece.

I prefer JOB when someone calls in and gets torn to bits and he's scratching head and stuff.

They should both just be totally perfect, until they are i think it's best to vote tory.

I think it shows Lynch doesn't really have much of a clue about the EU.

It feels to me in the JOB interview there that he's got one or two major legitimately held objections to the EU and isn't bothering getting familiar with more detailed arguments. I dont think he for destroyed by JOB at all. I think he's generally doing a great job. In the absence of a Left Labour hes all there is. He continually has massive backing from his members for what they're trying to achieve. He does revert to standard Socialist positions but what's wrong with that? Neither Labour nor the Tories give a fuck about workers rights.
The thing on Joe today was clear-minded and brilliant I thought.

the details he got wrong were debunked by JOB giving examples of where both Spain and France had done with their rail services, what he claimed was not possible in the UK because they were in the EU. I'd say they were pretty relevant details that he should have known about.

And the comment about mortgages in Ireland was hilarious in the context of what happened in the UK in late september.

did his union not issue a directive to its members to support Brexit?
It does seem like that was a pyrrhic victory for that sector of the left...what were they going to do with all this taken-back control and sovereignty and bla bla but with a vicious tory government in power, and a general lack of clear rational self-interest in society? We are where we are, I guess. Is it about shortening the chain of accountability?

well this is it. Its hard to reconcile something where both the far right and the far left have a shared interest in something, albeit for different reasons. But thats kinda what happened in this case.

I didnt listen in huge detail...I'll go back. But wasnt his argument that the French and German nationalisation actions a temporary emergency measure? His argument, I guess, being that if you want to nationalise something, fix it, and then hand it back to private finance to suck dry again 2 years later then what's the point?

they didn't go into that level of detail. It was moreso Lynch saying something wasn't possible, and JOB gave 2 examples of cases where it had already happened.

Which is similar enough, from The Left position, to brexit now that I think of it...a stepping stone. But having agreed to jump, we find there are no more stepping stones accessible to The Left. Pointless.

Who's the far left in this example? The far left is a meaningless term when applied to the UK. There is no far left.

Lol at the idea that James O'Brien comes off better in that clip.

Doesn't matter if it's the UK or the EU, we're both having a great time drowning asylum seekers while talking up our glorious human rights systems and handwringing over miniscule policy differences.

I'm not sure anyone suggested that JOB came out better. I think them being a pair of pricks was the consensus, though Mick has a few fans.

And the miniscule policy differences are arguably what swung the Brexit result by capturing the moron vote.
