AWESOME electronic music from the last 30 years (1 Viewer)

Aw man, I'm slipping down a rabbit hole now ... don't watch this if you're sensitive to flashing lights and the like. Virtuoso rapping from Nicki Minaj over a frenetic and totally bananas track

That's pretty great, although could do without any vocals tbh. Comes from a long lineage of annoying dance songs from Chicago that really work when it's turned up loud in a sweaty basement club, e.g.

always had a soft spot for lamb if the focus is electronic music that made it into the charts.

Haha this thread drives home people's different approaches to music. Like that Jam and Spoon track - if I give it my full attention then I can see the beauty in it, but normally what I'm after is music that grabs me and pulls me in without me having to do that (most often by making me want to jump up and dance)

I think it also shows how broad a definition 'electronic music' is!

yep, i often like slow repetive stuff. that particular track clicked with me one day about 20 years ago where i was having a really shitty day and went driving around the wicklow mountains and it was almost like a religious experience when it came on.

has anyone else listened to all of these of tracks in their entirety?
there's been 31 artists posted here so far - including at least 14 artists I had heard before.

the first 5 minutes of the Tatsuhisa Yamamoto track gave no real clues as to where it was heading.
I'm less out of touch than I thought as the rest of the tracks had a very familiar feel to them.
will keep listening....
Minaj's rapping skills were impressive alright.

This is amazing - Japanese noise artist MASONNA performing on vintage 70's synths! what a great idea.
the best of both worlds/eras.
MASONNA / Space Machine 3 LP boxed set. includes lengthy samples

Masonna is great, like Merzbow but actually fun.

Don't get me started on Masonna...

I remember I went across town to see him play, and the rest of the bill was pretty ropey. So, I think the gig started at 1930, but I got there at 1940.

I had paid in, and was like what time is Masonna on at ? It's over, he said. What? but sure the gig only started ten minutes ago. Yeah, well he's finished. How long was his set? I ask. Five minutes, maybe less, he says.

Right, give me a refund then Jesus Christ Almighty.
