What movie did you watch last night? (8 Viewers)

Deadly Cuts on Netflix. Never knew it existed before. Its good craic.

And some film made in Cavan whose name I can't think of. Dark as fuck and it'd depress the hell out of you, but its funny at the same time. I thought the music was great too, especially Floating playing loud over the closing credits.

Been meaning to watch Deadly cuts, heard good things.

The Humans. A play adaptation about a family of insufferables having their thanksgiving dinner in New York. It's a bit like Seinfeld, it's a movie about nothing. Except it's not really funny, except for a few lines. Not up to much really, sound design/score was quite good for what there was of it though.

Is it a horror? The trailer is confusing

I watched that Rolling Stones documentary on BBC 4 last week. Was great!

Apart from Keith talking shit

Belfast.
It's a great film, for a fantasy. I mean look, maybe it's me but it's just there's a lot of stuff there that is pretty close to the mark but just doesn't ring quite right, and that's how the film feels overall to me. It is still brilliant though, I guess the big thing is that it's a bit strange that it's not a lot grimmer in the setting. Like, Tigers Bay nowadays is still grim as fuck, and that's 50 years later.
Give Hinds the supporting actor oscar or there'll be trouble. He's the most authentic thing in the film I think. Yer one Balfe is a total dream wife too, she'd look good wearing a balaclava.
Finally, look the music suits the film very well, but Van Morrison can still go and fuck himself forever, obviously.

Crash Pad.

Its grand, but worth the watch for Domhnall Gleeson. He is fantastic in it. I'd guess they didn't write his part to be Irish (given his character's name) but the Irish shtick lends itself to it very well I thought.

Boiling Point. Stephen Graham is the head chef in an up-market restaurant on a night before Christmas where everything is about to go to shit.
This is fucking classssssss. It's got a bit of a Safdie drama about it, the entire thing is filmed in one clever shot and shit just keeps happening. It's also got a bit of that Locke feel about it, but this isn't a one-man show, it's got the whole restaurant kicking off in different ways. Fuckin brilliant craic if you've ever worked in some shit restaurant!

Sing 2. You know what - I enjoyed it. Have zero recollection of the first one but I know I saw it. Bono’s in this one (playing an ageing recluse rockstar) but if you didn’t know it was him you wouldn’t know it was him.

This was great. I'll watch Steo in fucking anything though

Red Rocket. A down and out porn star returns to his home town. A great film. Like one of those 70s character dramas that jack Nicholson would’ve starred in back in the day. Great central character. Utter scumbag but really likeable. 5/5

Really enjoyed this. Some of the more philosophical dialogue was a bit awkward otherwise it was great

That sounds good. Is it in the cinema or streaming somewhere?
