I don’t know, it seems like for a long time in cartoons that old Medieval types were always chomping on turkey legs but the turkey was not brought back to Europe until later. Maybe they were all eating swans.
 
Erm ... I still don't get it. Is this some corner of pop culture I have missed out on? Should I ask my kids?


Really? This is very confusing. I have an image in my head of a bunch of medieval people sitting around a big table eating a feast. And there'll always be one, like a gluttonous monk or a brave warrior with a huge turkey drumstick in his hand munching away and slurping a goblet of wine. It's what I think of when I imagine a medieval feast, which I don't think of often tbf.

You don't think of that? That's mad.
