Unexpected covers (2 Viewers)

I think Toyah can handle my dismissiveness, but within the realms of amazing early 80s pop culture and tunes she's pretty much the bottom of the barrel and I can't for the life of me understand why she was on the cover of a magazine pretty much weekly.

Jubilee's a great film! Mental stuff. That was her career high point as far as i'm concerned.
Here hits --and they were big ones-never get played on the radio, which is telling

haha, I mean I only know of her through my own mastermind topic deep dives into 70s and 80s pop music culture, I can't think of a single time she has come up otherwise. I'd say people either know her now as an actor or because they like King Crimson!

I'm old, but Toyah played a HUGE part in my life when I was young. Up there in my consciousness with Adam Ant. She was an enormously popular pop star. She was on TV all the time, in magazines and in comics. Everywhere.

Just in case anyone was wondering.

Do all bands just turn into cabaret acts eventually if they stick around long enough? There's nothing to dislike nor particularly like about this version. I'd had the crack if I heard it live and was on a dancefloor or moshpit but have no interest in ever hearing it again otherwise.
