Coronavirus: Better Call Sol - CORONAMANIA (8 Viewers)

went for a 9 mile walk yesterday which took me over 5 km from my house.
on way out of village I met 2 people none neither of which were within 7 metres of me.
as I got back I saw two people both about 50 metres away.

In between I met only one person - a cyclist - who was not in a car.
that was within 3 km of the village.
that fact is the further you get away, the likely you are to meet people.

FWIW's I wore a mask for the whole walk. It fine except on the uphill parts which
where all in the first 2.5 miles.

just sayin' like....

Im just back from the post office, which is at the back of a supervalu.

Had to queue to get in. But when i was in,couldnt take 3 steps without having to step to the side to avoid people. Leaving the shop the queue was longer, and pretty much no space between people.

I could only think this is how much the support of the public has been lost.

I come from a long line of West Dublin folks.
I remember 30 years ago at the back of Hillcrest estate (built late 70's)
(where I think you are talking about) there was just fields and stone walls
on the narrow Newcastle road once you got a few hundred metres
beyond the school and church built in the mid 80's.
now there is a huge 6 lane (?) road there at Adamstown.

Yes, I've gone for these country walks to avoid people.

It is nice (and good to do some hills). on one I met more dogs than people

Ian Brown & Jim Corr should collaborate.

BrownCorr

Not only is he a great singer, he is also an expert on how to deal with global pandemics.

6 lanes would be a motorway
yeah I stand corrected - I checked and it's only four lanes (plus a lengthy bus stop) at that point.

not uncommon at all. a lot of bogger dogs aren't locked in and come out on the road
but if you're lucky they only bark at you.

You were talking about Lucan. (I am also from Lucan. Hello)

It's one thing to say no lockdown, why no test and trace or vaccine or what?? Is he just saying the disease itself doesn't exist? Also, Ian Brown hasn't had a hit since, what, F.E.A.R? and hasn't actually released an album anyone cares about since the Stone Roses debut WHICH ISN'T ACTUALLY THAT GOOD.

Yeah, he's pretty much saying the disease doesn't exist. He released some shit song saying something to that effect. It's fucking terrible on every level.

I over estimated the width of the Newcastle road at the Lucan Super Valu
which is were the '6 lanes' thing came in...

I'm a bogger and never lived in Lucan but visited it regularly growing up
until the 90's.

My father's family lived in the Lucan and West Dublin area when it was
a village out in the country but he left in the 60's to become a bogger.

I hadn't been on the Newcastle road for a longtime until 2014 when my Gran died.
so the last time I was there before that the Super Valu place was still on the
edge of the countryside in the 90's.
so to see how much it had changed was a surprise.
Newcastle used to be a small village back then.

this thread is going a bit off track -
I love a bit of digression

Well I like the stone Roses & some of Brown's solo stuff.....but he is a belligerent anus, and knows fuck all about this, except whatever he has read on the internet by some other bullshitter.
