I hear that! I'm on the hunt for a project guitar currently myself. Its great fun. Total rabbit hole
I regret selling the Squier standard I fixed up..refretted it and everything//played LIKE BUTTAH
seriously - I'm currently building another based on this kit (- hardware, pups etc). Tele was a complete parts build so more difficult in many respects. The wood parts alone are worth the money in the HB kit (hardwood body (regnas), and neck is beautiful).
I built the Strat version of this. It's not great.
It’ll look half decent even if it sound gak. Bridge and pickups in the post, so it might be a while before it’s finished...i'm dumping almost everything except the body and neck - which seem decent (neck in particular). Think the strat and tele kits are basswood, whereas the LP and SG style kits are hardwood. I'll let you know how I get on

Bolt on - so more an sg shaped guitar than a true sg. Easier to shim etc though! Is the neck set or bolt on?
