I'm going to buy a record player................... (3 Viewers)

Yeah, your man in the video said you gotta get one. I had a quick google there and they seem to range from €8 to €200. I like his anti-skate control, a handy little knob. Mine is a stupid bit of fishing line with a weight on it that you hang off a little hook.

Yeah it seems like something useful to have. I have the dial for the anti-skating but my previous turntable had that fishing line thing .. don't really see how that can work properly.

I only heard of this device recently.
It removes the sound of surface noise in real-time.

I'd never considered this before but It is doable with a crappy enough laptop/computer and reaper software - could be run on a raspberry pii - Like it'd take a day or so learning crap and setting it up, but also like 120eu region.

"Life has surface noise."

What speakers should I buy? I assume I should measure the room and the like?

What are the traps you can fall into with speakers?

I don't need powered speakers anyway, I have an amp.

I got one of these spin clean washer things last year, it's a pain in the hole but it works surprisingly well. The price of this plastic tub is ludicrous but you're a record nerd so you'll pay. Don't use the drying cloths that come with it, just let them dry naturally.

Then get a Milty Zerostat 3 anti static gun to help keep them static and dust free but don't do it like this guy in the picture, it doesn't work if you do it with the record on the turntable

Get a hand bellows thing like this to blow the dust off the record. You can use the little brushes to gather the dust and then blow it off with this thing

Throw away the inner sleeve that came with the record and store your washed, zapped and blown records in expensive anti-static inner sleeves.

Getting into records is like getting a pet

Just going by HiFi hut

€95

€59 for the zapper

These speaker are meant to be *fantastic*. I'd been waiting for the price to drop forever, but nabbed the previous model offa adverts a couple of months back. wish I'd waited.

I thought those cleaner things were way more expensive .... tempting.

I just got these in the post. I'm still waiting on the record player so haven't got to try them but heard them in action in Tower records and was impressed with them
