It's good but the whole album just sounds like indie film soundtrack circa 2005, I can't get beyond just how derivative it is. At the same time, it's all so pleasant I can't dislike it.

Yeah I know what you mean. Its pleasant fluff. I played it a lot over the last week as it helped me take my mind off the election.

This is out over a month ago, but just listened today - the first Pan American album in four years or more aka Mark Nelson of Labradford.

May take a few listens to sink in, but nice to hear Nelson's voice for the first time since? early Labradford, I guess.

The track, 'Muriel Spark' is a keeper, which is good because it would be horrible to name a bad song such. I could imagine some Britpop band like Menswear having a perfectly awful song named Muriel Spark though.

heard a band called Grand Veymont on Stuart Maconie's Freakzone the other night. forced me into checking them out on spotify. Sound decent. Kind of tick a lot of boxes . Nice harmonies/krautrockish/stereolab/duo/organs/french

That's right up my street - nice one!

Your post led me to their earlier EP which I've been listening to this morning as well. Also v. enjoyable:
