The Ludichrist demos and that first lp are great, that cover is a very low point on i thought. Second record is pretty bad.

this party sucks is fun
you loved scatterbrain too, right?
i want to like CHEAP TRICK but they are too American and not hard enough for my tastes.
I remember when i was first listening to them I expecting something a bit more Ramones-y as well, they kind of have that image on first glance. A song like He's a Whore starts off like it's going to be pure 1977 punk and then goes VERY FM rock.fair enough, they are what they are.
before i listened to them on you tube i expected something more RAMONESy
but i was far off the mark.
much like i expected KISS to sound more metal like an english band e.g. PRIEST.
and i listened to probably all the KISS tracks you posted a couple of years ago.
ignorance of US 70's FM rock led me to some clueless conclusions.
The internet says Huntz Hall of the Bowery Boysdoes Rick ever speak about why chose his stage image ?
Fuse. I've never heard it.also didn't they do some albums under other names pre TRICK that flopped ?

Once i'd adjusted my ears and expectations I came to love them

I'm not going to pretend I knew who they were, I vaguely recognize some of the characters as the kind of pop ephemera that would turn up as an obscure joke in a mid 90's simpsons but they seem to have largely fallen to the cultural wayside.
Fuse. I've never heard it.
VIRGIN PRUNES - Lady Day
(Lou Reed song from Berlin LP about Billie Holiday)
this is off the Hidden Lie LP (live in Paris 1986) on New Rose.
as this hasn't been reissued i suppose it was released without
the bands permission ??
for many years i thought Mary who plays guitar on this (rather than drums)
was the most attractive Irish woman i could think of.
finally i realized she was actually a lad called David.
It's Bun E Carr-los you philistinesNiche Cheap Trick joke

It was an official release and the New Rose version from 1993 was a reissue. The earlier release was on a French label I think?
