bad parents? (1 Viewer)

I'm not a fan of the whole German public nudity thing, to be perfectly honest. It's a bit much to say this is an indicator of particualrly progressive societies. Everyone loves to glorify Germany these days though.

I have no problem with kids in prostitute clothes as long as they're not prostitutes.Speaking as a parent myself it dosent concern me what other people dress their kids in..its none of my business..although they are leaving themselves open to being derided by me behind their backs if they dress their kids like whores, because they're fucking retarded.
I wouldnt dress my daughter like a skank because I think its a shit look with no class. But when she's old enough to make an informed choice about how she wants to dress than she can have at it.If it turns out she likes tart clothes,I'll just try the age old trick of ripping the piss out of her in the hope that she wises up to my way of thinking.

I would disagree that working class people are more inclined to have bad taste in their kids clothes. They just watch too much telly so cant think straight when they're in the shops.
So they end up buying what the kids ask for(and lets face it..kids havent a fucking clue what they're at.)

And on the subject of pedos.....I reckon those cunts cant stop being pedos,no matter what the fashion is,just make sure they dont get at your kid..but maybe pluck out their eyes to be on the safe side.
Its a parents job to nurture and protect their kids in the best way they can.If they are shit at it,pedos are everywhere I'm sure.
But if they pay attention to the youngsters general wellbeing..well then I'm sure the kids will be grand..

As for the Germans....fuck knows what they're at....

Pretty much agree with everything you said there Gaz, but I think you contradicted yourself with the above statement.

But what parent thinks its ok to dress their child in a tshirt that says "Future Porn Star" just because they asked for it.
(On the one that I saw that said "Porn Star In the Making").
It would take a lot more than just watching too much telly to be that fucking idiotic.

I guess you could argue that clothes like these only seem to be sold in cheaper tattier shops so perhaps they can only afford to shop in places that sell this shit. But you could also argue, for every Future Porn Star shirt there must be at least 10 Little Miss shirts (or something).

But back to my point. Yes they would be more inclined precisely because they haven't a clue.

Basically, I just dont get the mentality of parents who dress their kids in tshirts with shit like that on them.

Why do kids want t-shirts that say 'future porn-star' in the first place?

Yeah thats messed up to be honest...I hadnt included in my rant consideration of a t-shirt with that slogan on it tbh..

Its a symptom of a wider malaise-the general debasement of common sense for financial gain.

Pinkest and sparkliest t-shirt in the shop, I expect. Unlikely the kid can read or understand any of the words, except maybe "star" (which, in little girl land, usually means something good). Most likely explanation is the child wanted it and the Mam was too embarrassed to explain why she was saying "no"

Maybe for a 4 year old but what about a 10 year old?

FWIW I agree with Gaz's long post, and there's some sense in this too:

IisJohn said:
Generally speaking, adults need kids to be kids more than kids need to be kids, kids just are.

The way I see it, a kid is always a kid. We feel uneasy when we see a kid doing something that seems "adult", but that's our problem rather than the kid's, because what the kid in this kinda situation is actually doing is the most kiddish thing of all - playing. We see it differently to them, but it's their experience of childhood that counts rather than our perception of it

This thread reminded me of this type of thing

A 10 year old could read the words, but not understand them. Did you understand what porn was when you were 10? I knew how babies were made since before I went to school, but you need to have a sex drive to understand sex, otherwise it's just some other grown-up mystery like having a job or driving a car

So what your saying Egg is that is ok to be a bad parent and let kids wear clothes with slogans on them that are fundamentally wrong no matter how sparkly they are. Whether they understand them or not its up to the parent to protect their young.

I dont have a daughter, I have a son. And no matter how much he wanted to wear a shirt with Future Porn Star on it I would be a good dad and say NO. No means fucking NO. Like my parents used to say to me when I was a kid, "when your older you'll understand why."

Has Thumped turned in to the Adrian Kennedy Phone Show?

"howye Chris, these kids today, born with a silver-spoon etc."

Jill Hives wholeheartedly disagrees

that is really really not what he was saying. that's the adrian kennedy talkshow mentality again

That's kinda my point. I wouldn't have known 25 years ago but ask a 10 year old today and I'd say at least 80% (excluding undeveloped countries obviously) of them do. Not to mention, those types of shirts wouldn't have even been sold in shop or section where a ten year old would be shopping. I just think it's sad is all. It's again, a cultural thing. In Germany kids nude playing in a fountain would be startling for me to see and slightly uncomfortable but I would understand the innocent in it. Here or in the US, it just seems different because we weren't brought up in a society where nudity or showing lots of skin is normal. I'm a prude, I suppose.

The reason a kid shouldn't wear a t-shirt with future porn-star on it is because it's disturbing for adults and reflects badly on the parents. ON THE PARENTS.

the end. let's move on.

Fine. Note: I still disagree because it goes beyond that especially when it comes to little girls and their self esteem.
