Weird, I played at a party a few weeks back and threw out a load of these tunes, went down really well.

Highlights:

Sl2 - On a ragga tip
Prodigy - Everybody in the place
Orbital - Lush 3.1 + 3.2
Some LFO remix of a nightmares on wax choon.

:)

Yep, quality older stuff gets a great reaction from all types of electronic music crowds. Mrk 1 played "No Good (Start the Dance) as his last track in Kennedy's and the place went absolutely mental. Inigo Kennedy played a remix of "Charly" and got a similar reaction. A lot of mash-up djs like Ghislain Poirer play a fair bit of old tunes as well. Long may it continue....:)

I remember being over in my cousins when I was 13, and we were talking about what music we liked. At the time I was of the opinion that any electronic or synthetically made music was shit, regardless.

"The only music that has any real meaning is like, alternative rock or metal', I said ' 'dance' music is a load of bollocks, it might as well be made by robots. There's just no comparison'. We were watching MTV, and as Faith No More's Falling To Pieces video came on, one of my cousins argued that they used keyboards and they were cool. I still wasn't convinced, the synth parts just sounded gay and was I adamant that only the almighty power of electric guitars could kick your ass. Dance music could have no impact on me whatsoever.

Then this came on, and I shut my mouth.
