**COMEDY TENT LINE-UP**

ANDREW STANLEY MC - JARLATH REGAN - JOE ROONEY - PATRICK MCDONNELL - KEVIN MCGAHERN - EDWIN SAMMON - GEAROID FARRELLY - ALISON SPITTLE - JJ WHITEHEAD - JIM ELLIOT - EMMAN IDAMA - STEVE BENNETT - RONAN GRACE - RYAN CULLEN - PAUL MARSH - GRAINNE MCKEEVER - COLIN CHADWICK

The Comedy Tent at this year's Forbidden Fruit Festival plans to provide an oasis, where even the most committed of revellers can take a break from the magical musical mayhem, with a lineup that has something for all comedic tastes.

Comedian, writer, illustrator, Jarlath Regan has received rave reviews for his Irishman Abroad podcast which features interviews with the likes of Chris O’Dowd, Boy George, Dylan Moran and Graham Linehan and is listened to by more than 1 million people worldwide. However, it’s as a stand up where he truly shines, with his mix of fantastic tales and over the top observations.

Better known as Fr Damo from Fr Ted, Joe Rooney is a legend from the Irish comedy scene and he’ll be joined by another Fr Ted stalwart in Patrick McDonnell, aka Eoin McLove. Another comedian who would be more familiar to TV audiences is presenter of the satirical TV show 'The Republic Of Telly, the wonderfully acerbic Kevin McGahern, prepare to be wowed by this loveable Cavan scamp. Kevin will be joined by fellow Republic Of Telly star Edwin Sammon, who also played the part of ‘Fr Gabriel' in the recent RTE hit show Bridget and Eamon.

Gearoid Farrelly is one of Ireland’s best loved comics and whether it’s as an opening act for the likes of Joan Rivers, Sarah Millican or Neil Delamere, through to his many TV and radio appearances, his deliciously cruel material, delivered with a cheeky glee does not contain a duff moment. Alison Spittle is one of the fastest rising acts out there with numerous TV and radio projects in the pipeline and you’ll be seeing a lot more of this Mullingar livewire real soon.

There will be an international flavour to the proceedings this year with globetrotting Canadian stand up JJ Whitehead jetting in for a special show. A man whose style is so easy and laid back that he lures you into thinking you're just having a drink with a highly entertaining friend down the pub. Other overseas acts include American comic Jim Elliot and Nigerian Emman Idama.

The whimsical musical stylings of Steve Bennett never fail to engage and circuit regulars regulars Ronan Grace and Ryan Cullen are experienced comics who know where the funny bones are and how to tickle them.

Newcomers will also be given a chance to shine and great things are predicted for Paul Marsh, Grainne McKeever and Colin Chadwick plus the winner of the Forbidden Fruit Comedy Talent search competition.

All this under the watchful eye of your MC and compere for the weekend the human dynamo that is Andrew Stanley, who is quite simply the best host that any festival show could have. His lively banter and unrivalled audience interaction make for a party like atmosphere for both punters and performers alike.
