Das Madman were The Jimmy Cake version 1, and tried to sound like Einsturzende Neubauten colliding with Joy Division while Stereolab look on, ghoulishly.
History
Das Madman formed in 1997 in a vain attempt to win prizes from a battle of the bands competiton. They often played in the Funnel bar, with both venue and band meeting their respective demises around the same time. Some Das Madman songs occasionally rear their ugly heads during live shows by The Jimmy Cake.
