Liquidator To Be Appointed To POD Concerts

The Sunday Business Post today reported that a liquidator is to be appointed to Pod Concerts. This year's Electric Picnic festival will not be affected.

Last Friday's Irish Times had reported that the Revenue Commissioners were applying to the High Court to wind up the company on July 13th. Today's Sunday Business Post article states that John Reynolds, the owner of Pod Concerts, has now chosen to put the company into liquidation in advance of any court proceedings.

So what does this mean for upcoming gigs either promoted by Pod Concerts or being held in their venues? Thankfully not a lot, it seems:

The company said that Pod Concerts had no association with this year’s Electric Picnic festival, any upcoming shows produced by Pod, or any of the Pod’s venues.

The company said the petition would not affect this year’s Electric Picnic festival.
