Ungdomskulen (Frode Flatland, Kristian Stockhaus,  yvind Solheim) is a Norwegian rock band. Their sound is founded on bass, drums and guitar. Taken individually, the drum beats seem inspired by the city, the bass is syncopated and sonic, and the jazz-like guitar sounds as if it s possessed by rock demons. And finally, there s a light but authoritative male vocal on top. Bergen is this young trio s hangout. These guys love life.

In 2000 three young gentlemen took the first steps into what we now know as ungdomskulen. Cause in addition to their affection for life, they all love music. They ve been playing together in various constellations since they all went to school together in 99. In 2004 they decided to rock together on a regular and serious basis, and so they did. At first they called themselves standing ovation and then they decided to change their name to goddamnit, and so they settled with ungdomskulen. Alot of confusion did occur, but after a while things settled and today these guys are living the life and loving the lot.Now check em out folks!

When we first heard UNGDOMSKULEN we knew they belonged on Ever. The fact that they have taken over a year to negotiate a deal has had no detrimental effect on their suitability for the world at large. Their music is timeless because it is bigger than time. It s monumental, epic, glorious and colossal. It s disciplined, out of control, uncategorisable, definitive. We once called it  the sound of Steve Albini playing progrock disco . That doesn t even come close - we ve also seen words like Black Sabbath, Can, Frank Zappa, The Melvins, The Jesus Lizard, Sonic Youth, Fugazi, Public Image Ltd, The Fall and The Cure thrown around   but it s the best we can do right now.

The practise has paid off. This is the best shit you will hear all year.
