"This is rock music full of urgency, desire and tunes... gorgeous, graceful and exhilarating." Word

Truly infectious soaring melodies and brooding riffs The Fly
The Duke Spirit, one of the UK s most brilliant and underrated rock bands, are back with their much anticipated second studio album Neptune, released 4th February 2008 on You Are Here.
Produced by the Godfather of Stoner rock Chris Goss, (whose worked with everyone from Kyuss, Queens of the Stone Age and even Soulwax), Neptune is a strong, weighty release from a band, who have truly upped their game.
Recorded at the legendary Rancho de la Luna recording studio in Joshua Tree in Southern California, the album is a product of long days spent in the desert with time and clarity to craft a new repertoire of disarmingly seductive and passionate songwriting. Put it down to a full year of touring in the US as well as a ferocious self-belief, The Duke Spirit s second album is also a vindication of a dedicated old school work ethic.
The Duke Spirit released their critically acclaimed debut album Cuts Across the Land in 2005 to mass praise and their follow up is sure to convert any remaining naysayers. Neptune is a melting pot of fuzzy riffs, pounding percussion, stirring and passionate tracks headed up by lead singer Liela Moss s sweet yet commanding vocals. Throughout Neptune, one will observe an ebb n flow of songs tracing high times and sad times; it is an album of charged emotions (heartbreak and redemption), set to blistering guitars.
As audiences have seen, Moss s charismatic stage presence is truly unmatched; her all but swaggering demeanor, striking looks and heartwrenching (and heartfelt) voice has left a sea of crowds in the palm of her hand.
